National Visa

Documents Required

All applicants must submit recent documents (within 30 days), present originals for verification, and ensure completeness to avoid delays. The required documents vary by sub-category as outlined below.

General Requirements (Applicable to All Routes)

Visa Application Form

• Completed, printed, and signed.

Photograph

• One recent colour photograph (35mm x 45mm).

Travel Document

• Valid passport with at least 3 months validity beyond intended departure, 2 blank pages, and copies of all pages with entries or visas.
• Applicant must confirm the copy with name, date, and signature.

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.

Criminal Record Certificate

• Issued by the competent authority of the applicant’s country of citizenship or where they have lived for more than 12 months.

State Fee Payment Receipt

• Proof of payment of applicable government fees.

Additional Questionnaire

• Citizens of Russia, Belarus, or those requiring extra vetting must submit the appropriate supplementary questionnaire.

Route-Specific Requirements

Registered Company Representative (e.g. Board Member, Liquidator, Procurator)

• Confirmation of registration in the Latvian Commercial Register.
• Document certifying the individual’s authority to act on behalf of the company.
• Proof of Finance: Minimum €3,074
• Invitation approved by OCMA.

Service Provider (Foreign Employer Transfer)

• Certification of registration of the foreign employer.
• Employer letter confirming the individual is being transferred for service provision in Latvia.
• Proof of Finance: Must meet or exceed the average monthly gross wage in the respective sector, based on official Latvian statistics.

Employment Contract or Company Agreement

• Copy of signed employment or service agreement.
• Invitation approved by OCMA.
• Proof of Finance: Wage not less than the sectoral average or minimum wage as per Latvian labour law.
• Prior employment and educational qualification documents (originals and copies).
• Accommodation Proof (if not provided by employer).
• Travel Medical Insurance for at least 90 days, with minimum coverage of €42,600.
• Flight itinerary for first entry.

Intra-Corporate Transfer (ICT)

• Document confirming the intra-company transfer.
• Proof of Finance: As per average sectoral wage or minimum wage agreement.
• Other standard supporting documentation as above.

Start-Up Activity (Innovative Product Development)

• Free-form submission detailing:
  • Description of the innovative product.
  • Business development activities planned over the next 3 years.
• Proof of Finance: Minimum €740

EU Blue Card Applicants

• Valid employment offer in Latvia requiring high qualifications.
• Minimum gross monthly salary:
  • €2,306 or as defined by Cabinet Regulation No. 108 (at least €1,844).
• Proof of higher education and relevant qualifications.

Photo Specifications

Applicants must provide one recent colour photograph, taken within the last 6 months, meeting the following requirements:

Background

• Light-coloured background (white or off-white)
• Facial features must be clearly distinguishable with good contrast

Quality & Composition

• High-resolution and in clear focus
• Full face visible, with a neutral expression (no smiling)
• No sunglasses, hats, or head coverings
  • Exceptions made only for religious or cultural reasons

Format

• Printed on standard photographic paper (camera print only)
• Photograph must be paper clipped to the visa application form (do not glue or staple)

Important

• If the photograph does not meet the above standards, the application will be considered incomplete
• Applicants may be required to take new photos at the visa application centre’s photo booth
