Documents Required

All documents must be dated within 30 days of application submission. Original documents must be presented at the appointment, while photocopies must be submitted unless otherwise specified.

Visa Application Documents

The required documents vary depending on your selected investment route. All applicants must ensure that submitted documents are complete, accurate, and dated within 30 days.

General Requirements (Applicable to All Routes)

Visa Application Form

• Fully completed and signed.

Travel Document

• A copy of all pages of a valid passport or travel document, certified as a true copy by the applicant (copy correct, number of pages, surname, date, and signature).

Photograph

• One passport-sized photograph (3×4 cm).

UK Residency

• UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code. (if applicable)

Criminal Record Certificate

• Issued by the competent authority of the applicant’s country of citizenship or long-term residence (if stayed there for more than 12 months).

Proof of Finance

• Document certifying sufficient means of subsistence.
  • €740 for most routes
  • €2,220 for property investment

State Fee Payment Receipt

• Document confirming payment of the applicable government fee.

Additional Questionnaire

• Applicants from certain countries (e.g. Russia, Belarus) must submit an additional questionnaire.

Route-Specific Requirements

Investment in Equity Capital of a Latvian Capital Company

• Document certifying the investment in company equity as per immigration law.
• Must meet thresholds outlined in Latvian legislation.
• Business registration documents if applicable.

Ownership of Immovable Property

• Document confirming non-cash payment for the purchase of immovable property.
• Appraiser’s opinion verifying that the market value of the property meets the legal minimum if cadastral value does not.
• Proof of no outstanding property tax debts (if owned longer than 1 year).

Investment in a Latvian Credit Institution

• Document from a Latvian credit institution confirming subordinated liabilities (as defined in immigration law).
• If investment made in foreign currency, the bank must confirm that the value complied with the legal amount on the day of agreement using official exchange rates.

Investor in Securities

• Proof of qualifying investment in securities, meeting Latvian legal thresholds.
• Supporting documents related to purchase and registration of securities.

Photo Specifications

Applicants must provide one recent colour photograph, taken within the last 6 months, meeting the following requirements:

Background

• Light-coloured background (white or off-white)
• Facial features must be clearly distinguishable with good contrast

Quality & Composition

• High-resolution and in clear focus
• Full face visible, with a neutral expression (no smiling)
• No sunglasses, hats, or head coverings
  • Exceptions made only for religious or cultural reasons

Format

• Printed on standard photographic paper (camera print only)
• Photograph must be paper clipped to the visa application form (do not glue or staple)

Important

• If the photograph does not meet the above standards, the application will be considered incomplete
• Applicants may be required to take new photos at the visa application centre’s photo booth
